Last updated: 28 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information ClearPage collects, why we collect it and how we protect it, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Who we are
ClearPage is a division of ClearCorp (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/078111/07, based in Boksburg, Gauteng. We're the responsible party for your personal information. Our Information Officer is Lohan, who you can contact at [email protected] or +27 82 325 5445.
2. What we collect
- When you subscribe: your name, business name, email address, mobile number, whether you chose the email add-on, and confirmation that you accepted our terms.
- To build your site: the content you send us, such as your logo, photos, services, prices and business contact details.
- When you contact us: your messages and contact details, whether by WhatsApp, email or phone.
- Payment information: Paystack processes your card payment. We only see the payment status, reference and the last few digits of your card. We never see or store your full card details.
3. When you visit our website
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information like your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If we measure visits, we use privacy-friendly analytics that don't use cookies or identify you. Your light or dark theme choice is saved only in your own browser.
4. Why we use your information
- To set up, build, host and manage your website and email.
- To bill your subscription and keep records of payments.
- To contact you about your site, changes you've asked for and your account.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.
We only use your information for these purposes. We don't sell it, and we won't send you marketing unless you've agreed to it. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run ClearPage, and only as much as they need:
- Paystack, to process payments and manage your subscription.
- Cloudflare, to host websites and handle email routing.
- Zoho, to provide Professional Email, if you choose the add-on.
- WhatsApp (Meta) and our email provider, when we communicate with you.
Some of these providers may store information outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection laws or agreements that give your information a similar level of protection to POPIA. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you're a customer and for as long afterwards as the law requires, for example 5 years for financial records. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and reputable providers. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your information, we'll let you and the Information Regulator know as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- object to us using it, including for marketing.
To make a request, email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
9. Your customers' information
If your ClearPage site has a contact form, the messages your visitors send go to you. You're responsible for how you use your own customers' information, and we only handle it as needed to run your site.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, and we'll let customers know about important changes.
